Verity Angel: Privacy & AI Disclosure

1. Who We Are & What We Do Verity Angel is a tech-enabled brand protection agency. We protect creators and businesses from intellectual property theft and fraudulent impersonation. To do this, we use specialised AI agents to monitor public digital marketplaces and social media platforms.

2. Our Lawful Basis (Recognised Legitimate Interests) Under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, we process publicly available business data (such as names, handles, and store URLs of potential infringers) under the basis of 'Recognised Legitimate Interests'. Specifically, our processing is necessary for the prevention of fraud and the protection of intellectual property. Per the Act, this processing is considered necessary for the security of legitimate UK businesses and does not require a separate Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) for these specific crime-prevention purposes. We do not process "Special Category" (sensitive) personal data.

3. AI Transparency & Human Oversight Our proprietary AI monitoring systems identify potential "Ghost" accounts and counterfeit listings. We strictly operate a "Human-in-the-Loop" policy. No enforcement action or "Evidence Package" is ever generated or sent solely by an automated system. Every flag raised by our AI is reviewed and verified by a human agent to ensure accuracy before any takedown notice is instigated.

4. Data Retention We only retain personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil our protection services. Active Infringement Data is retained for the duration of the enforcement case. Case Evidence is retained for 6 years following the closure of a case to comply with UK statutory limitation periods for legal claims and audits. Any data flagged by AI but found to be legitimate by a human reviewer is deleted within 30 days without exception.

5. Your Rights You have the right to object to our processing of your data. "Please note that requests for access to data may be restricted where such disclosure would likely prejudice the prevention or detection of crime, or is subject to legal professional privilege."
